For achieving the project goals methods and devices will be developed. Especially suspension based additive manufacturing methods will be developed and qualified in cerAMfacturing, because this route promises a much better component performance in comparison to powder based methods. For that purpose the development work will be focused on:
- development of Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) for producing large and multi material ceramic components;
- development of Thermoplastic 3D Printing (T3DP) for producing multi material ceramic or metal/ceramic-components and
- increasing the variety of ceramic materials and increasing the building space for ceramic components in Lithography based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM)
Multi material applications play a dominant role in the project. Beside ceramic/ceramic also ceramic/metal material combinations shall be developed. For that purpose either additive manufacturing methods shall be qualified or AM methods shall be combined with conventional shaping routes like tape casting or ceramic injection moulding. The last mentioned combination of technologies will allow the individualisation of large series production components.
